‘An Epitaph’ is a melancholic poem written by Walter De La Mare. He was an English poet, famous for his writings for children. He lost his father at the age of four and had to move with his family to London.ln this poem he has talked about the passing nature of a human.  The poet is sitting near an epitaph. And that Epitaph is of a lady who belong to the west country. In the word of poet she is the most beautiful lady of west. Probably he has affection towards her. But the beauty does not remain forever. It has To pass a day. And the same happened with that lady. And today the poet fears that after his death Who will remember her.
